Been there a few times in the last month...always willing to help and cheap.  Honestly, I was repainting a room/taking up carpet and went to Home Depot, etc.  Medford Hardware was cheaper than the larger stores, had a clerk who answered my numerous questions and is local.  The only thing I used Home Depot for was the wallpaper steamer/remover which was slightly cheaper.

Not affiliated with Medford Hardware.  I was just pleasantly surprised by it.

Gee - nice.  The local guys answer all your questions, help you out, and you go buy the wallpaper steamer at Home Depot.

Wonder why all the small stores are going out.....

Could you have rented the steamer at Spott's?  I always go there first - better service, prices and atmosphere than HD or Lowes.  Rusty and his crew are indispensible to us!
