Medford's Mexican Villiage
« on: July 19, 2008, 04:02:08 AM »
Am I the only one who has noticed and is dismayed by all the undocumented illegal Mexicans who are slowly taking over the Historic Medford Villiage area?

It started many years ago with a handful of the fine folks living in the dumps on Mill Street, now they are all over Medford Villiage and it's side streets.  Everytime we drive through they all walking or biking through the Villiage.  And all they do is stare at every woman who drives by or is walking on the sidewalks.  They stare like wolves looking for a kill. It's real un-nerving.

It's nice to know Medford Township allows these illegals to reside here and does nothing to remove them.  The ones living on Mill Street are within sight/walking distance of the school and we have no idea if there are child molesters, rapists, murderers, or whatever living in those crap house.  They have no ID so there's no way to find out their background. They sit on their porches and drool like hungry anaimals at every teenage girl that walks by them.

The merchants on Main Street should be worried about this also because already we don't walk there at night anymore because they are roaming the streets all the time -usually in groups.  When they get so numerous that people stop going to stores there out of fear for there personal safety, then it's just going to hurt the shop owners and the whole area will decay as stores close. Once they move into an area they don't leave and they just multiply -which is what you see happening now in the Villiage.

It's a shame, and nobody will probably ever do anything about it or speak up about the issue.  That's why this Country is in the shape it is with 12 million of them living hidden lives here.  A recent statistic out of Los Angeles County states that 50% of the criminals being arrested there are illegal Mexicans.

Wow - I am impressed that you have checked the documentation on each and every brown skinned person living in or near downtown Medford.  I feel so much safer now.
What kind of fearmonger are you?  If you have a legitimate complaint, contact the police and the township.  There may be zoning offenses, but last I checked, people with brown skin aren't all illegals, rapists and murderers.
It is people like you that make me ashamed to live in Medford.

I have noticed a bunch of bigoted white people who live everywhere in this town, and I'm wondering if the town fathers can do anything about it. It is a proven fact that some are wife and child abusers, many are drunks and others commit thousands of crimes.

Many, having "moved up" to medfort, are corporate hacks who are destroying the world during their day jobs, then coming back to medfort and telling everyone else how to live.

I'm also heard that many of these white people depend on brown skinned people to do their landscaping, butchering, tend and pick their farm goods and do thousands of other jobs.

Please tell me it isn't true? What can we residents do about all these white criminals in our midsts?

I can appreciate the concerns of illegal imgrants having an impact on our country. You certainly have a flair for the way you state your opinions on this thread and others. It appears that you intend to offend rather than create open dialogue/ debate/ discussion. Perhaps you could re-think your approach and then your concerns might be taken seriously.

As someone who lives directly on Main Street in Medford, I take issue with some of your comments (though, admittedly, I realize you're trying to get a rise out of people rather than start a legitimate discussion).

First and foremost, I agree with the user who was "impressed" with your ability to check all documentation of those you deemed "Mexican" simply by driving by them.  Sweeping generalizations never work...and usually only offend.

Second, I have seen many individuals biking and walking up Main Street while running and driving.  Never have I ever experienced anything but respect and so forth.  Not once...and my 20-something female friends who run with me have never experienced your alleged gawking.  Please, get off your high horse.  No one is focusing on you, but...you.

Last, it's people like you who force people to avoid Medford.  It's a great town with lakes, shops and restaurants.  You are doing our town a disservice when you project you racist thoughts onto this forum.  Please stop...you do not and never will be able to express the sentiment of the majority of us.

I'm sure most people on this forum are embarrased by you.  I am.

Aristone - Hear Hear!  You called it - the guy is an intolerant racist.  We don't need comments that incite and inflame.  Medford is a lovely place that could be even better with more tolerance and education.  Please, Zardoz, look at your words again.  You might feel a little remorse.  We could all be more tolerant!  After all, Medford and the surrounding towns were settled by Quakers, whose whole being is tolerance and peace.

Medford does not have an ILLEGAL ALIEN problem....

It may have a problem of immoral and unethical citizens and businesses which like to get things done on the cheap and avoid paying taxes.

It may have a problem with residents who think their children are too good to do manual labor and other such work....

It may have a problem with residents who are lazy and don't like to get their hands dirty.

It may have a problems with racist and bigoted residents who have no understanding of the world except what some talk radio fool told them.

In other words, Medford has problems, but the least of them is hard working folks doing the dirty work for lazy slobs.

Medford historically has a racist past, or inability to get past racism. Medford Lakes listed itself as the last restrictive community in NJ until the early sixties. It appears as though the mentality has not completely died off, and never will.

I am a Black man living in Medford, and frequently encounter racism, but I blow it off because I realize that some people are incapable of getting past their own issues of generalization. I have encountered racism all of my life, and expect no end to that, but consider it to be an individual problem instead of generalizing. Perhaps this approach should be employed by those individuals that thinks we have a illegal immigrant issue. By the way, unless you are Native American, you are most likely an illegal immigrant with distant relatives that killed women and children simply to take their land. Get off your high horse, realize your hair is gone, and get on with your life with less prejudice.

A report that came out early in 2008 stated that 30 Billion or Trillion dollars is contributed to social security benefits by illegal aliens working in the US. I apologize for not remembering the numbers, but didnt realize there would be a test later. The system is badly broken, but how badly broken would it be without that contribution from people that can never claim benefit?

Everyone claims illegal aliens take jobs that hard working Americans would want. What about the farmer that cant afford to pay insurance,or benefits for those hard working Americans that can only afford beer and lawyers that get a cut of their profits from their lawsuits when they break a nail doing manual labor? It is real easy to complain, but difficult to solve the issues of the world. Why not just remember that we all have a higher power to answer to and may regret not being kind to our fellow man no matter what color his skin is.

The world is not going to change unless we change it, and that change can be positive or negative. Do you want something to worry about? Or, would you rather have a world where everyone accepts everyone else, and looks out for ones neighbor? I have neighbors that I dont trust farther than I can throw them because they are similar to the people with the issues expressed in this thread. How sad is that?

Live and let live. Maybe then there will be a better tomorrow instead of a continuation of today.
